The CPF influentials study tour of The Netherlands 2014 was made possible by the support of the Netherlands Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade external relations program. A huge thank you to the Government for their support and sponsorship of the program. Their leadership and commitment to the program has been invaluable.
This was the first CPF-led study tour, and it builds on some of the great work of Paul Van Bellen from Gazelle, who led a tour in 2012 of 30 fired up and excited Australians, keen to get a better understanding of what makes the Netherlands such a great place to ride and travel.
With 10 key influentials from diverse backgrounds, which included major city jurisdictions, senior transport officials, motoring organisations and safety researchers, the trip was the catalyst for some significant outcomes nationally. All of the participants have the ability to significantly influence transport in Australia, and the ongoing impacts have been evident over the months that have followed the tour.
