London Cyclists Benefit From Supportive Environment

As a reflection of what can be done if recommendations like those above are followed London has seen a 91% increase in cycling since 2000. This comes despite the wettest summer since 1912. London is investing 55 million pounds in cycling this year – up from 36 million pounds last year and a ten fold increase on cycling since 2000.

Transport for London estimates that there are in excess of 500, 000 cycle journeys in the capital each day but they are keen to push this further as it still represents only 2% of all journeys made in the city.
